HCC's Response to Covid19
Bigger than a Building
The past few weeks have been strange and unnerving to say the least. Currently government officials and the CDC are requesting that people not gather in large groups, practice social distancing (standing at least an arm length’s distance from others) and washing your hands.
Due to these guidelines many churches across all 50 States are making the difficult choice to not meet over the next few Sundays. Harmony Christian Church will be doing the same. We are being asked to love our neighbor and to demonstrate that our faith is bigger than a building.
As strange as this circumstance might be it is also allowing for a wonderful opportunity. An opportunity for the church to be the church. God sent Jeremiah to encourage the Babylonian exiles to “seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile” (Jeremiah 29:7). The same opportunity is being given to us. Our brothers, sisters, and neighbors are sick, hungry, and anxious. If the gospel is real and relevant, and the church is truly bigger than our buildings, now is the time to show it!
Updates will be posted to the HCC's Facebook page (@ChoctawHCC). HCC is bigger than a building!
